Needle’s Eye “Airlock”

Concept:

“Airlock” is the metaphor we are using to describe our transition hallway.

Just as an astronaut removes all his protective gear as he enters the safety of the spaceship from the airless and dangerous void of space, we invite our guests to shed and leave behind both internal and external workplace labels, burdens, conflicts, self-protections, shame, fear, etc. as they enter the safety of our Christ-centered space.

When entering, guests are invited to:

Use the cards and pens provided to write down things you want and need to shed to best leverage your time in our spiritually “protected” environment. Put the cards into a lanyard sleeve and hang your lanyard on the hook.

Pray and reflect on what is already on the wall and as prompted by the Spirit. Surrender it completely to Jesus.

Concept:

Similarly, when leaving the building, we urge our guests to “suit up” with the “gear” Christ provides His followers to navigate the challenges of a secular and sometimes hostile work environment.

The tree represents the fullness of life as a Christ follower and the leaves physically represent His gifts and provision for co-laboring with Him in our workplace mission fields.

When leaving, guests are invited to:

Reflect on the different leaves hanging on the tree. Ask the Spirit to guide you in selecting the one thing that would equip you best, on that day, as you re-enter the challenges of the world.

Take the corresponding leaf from the plastic holders and mount it on your dashboard, PC, mirror, or use it as a bookmark for ongoing encouragement.
