Freedom from Toxic Tapes (Step 2): Taking Thoughts Captive
At our August Faith & Work lunch, we hosted 17 individuals, 7 of whom were checking out Needle’s Eye for the first time! We continued with our theme of “Freedom from Toxic Tapes”, focusing our discussion on 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 and what it means to “take every thought captive” by confronting and replacing “toxic thoughts”, strongholds and lies with God’s Truth.

✨Hearts United in Prayer✨
At the end of our time together, an established member of our community felt comfortable sharing about a specific situation and asking the entire group for prayer. Not only did everyone present take the prayer request with them to pray over in the days to come, but they each committed additional time to join the Needles Eye Team in prayer over this individual, hands and hearts joined together in Unity.
As a newcomer to the Needles Eye staff, the beauty of this moment struck me deeply. Our community consists of a growing diversity of Believers, most of whom do not worship together on Sunday mornings. But on this Friday afternoon, in the back room of NEM, the Spirit of Unity who reigns above all congregations and denominations was at work in the Body of Christ in Richmond, VA. And we were privileged to join Him for the encouragement of a fellow Believer.
May our hope at Needles Eye be to grow in our Unity as Christ’s Body in Richmond and across the globe, thus fulfilling our Savior’s prayer for his people.
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” (John 17:21)
Amen and amen.
