Small Group Coordinator Jordan Maroon is passionate about helping Christians cultivate an understanding of and commitment to the Bible that is adequate to the complexities of daily life and the present age. Giving lay Christians the tools to study the Bible privately and then live it publicly is Jordan’s personal mission.
Jordan is a native of Midlothian, Virginia, just south of Richmond. At eight years old, Jordan accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and his relationship with God became the defining characteristic of his life. After attending Midlothian High School, Jordan matriculated to Christopher Newport University, graduating in 2002 with a B.A. in political science.
After college, Jordan joined InterVarsity Christian Fellowship-USA as a full-time campus minister. For a decade (seven years at UNC-Chapel Hill and three at Wake Forest University), Jordan ministered to hundreds of college students through preaching, teaching, discipleship and mentoring, planning retreats and events, lay counseling, and training in spiritual disciplines. During this time he trained 1800+ student small group leaders.
Desiring to move back to his hometown, Jordan was thrilled to learn about Needle’s Eye and the chance to continue in small group ministry. He joined the team in 2016 and really enjoyed the opportunities and challenges of serving marketplace men and women as they serve Jesus in the trials and triumphs of day-to-day work.
Jordan and his wife Krystal have three young children and attend Stony Point Church in Bon Air.
