Corporate Matching Gifts
For every charitable contribution you give, your company may match it! Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Most corporate procedures are simple:
- Visit your HR department or website and request a “Matching Gift Form” from your company.
- Complete and submit the form to Needle’s Eye with your gift.
- NEM will verify the completed form and return it to the company.
- The company issues a matching gift contribution to NEM.
Securities
Instead of cashing out an asset and then writing a check, transfer ownership of the security — stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other assets– directly to NEM.
Needle’s Eye books the investment at fair market value while you take an equivalent income tax deduction. Moreover, since the transaction avoids capital gains taxes, you can actually deduct more from your income than if you’d given straight cash. Keep that extra money, or give it away as well.
