Who We Are

At Needle’s Eye, we view ourselves as bridge builders, serving as a spiritual connection between marketplace people and matters of faith. We are not a church or membership-based organization; we are a resource to Richmond’s marketplace.

Letter From Our Executive Director

When we started Needle’s Eye in 1977, our purpose then– and now- is to take the Gospel to business and professional people and help them understand how faith should impact their work. Our philosophy of ministry is about going where people are. It’s my feeling that more people can be reached Monday through Friday from 9 to 5, than on Sundays at 11.

What excites me most about Needle’s Eye Ministries is changed lives – when I see Jesus Christ become real in another person’s life or when someone has an "a-ha" moment and understands that God wants to use them in a certain way. That’s why we do what we do.

Check out some of the opportunities NEM offers that could draw you closer to Him and make you more effective in your work. And if you’re one who’s spiritually searching, explore the Wondering about God? section of our website. In the final analysis, it really doesn’t matter if you’ve heard of Needle's Eye Ministries, but it matters volumes whether you’ve heard and accepted Jesus Christ.

Why Are We Called "Needle's Eye"?

What’s harder to imagine- a camel through a needle, or a servant leader?
With the pressure of bottom-lines and corporate culture, we hope that Needle’s Eye is a place where business men and women find a refuge-- and the courage to be counter-cultural.

“I’d say it’s easier to thread a camel through a needle’s eye than get a rich person into God’s kingdom,” [Jesus said]. “Then who has any chance at all?” the others asked. “No chance at all,” Jesus said, “if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” - Luke 18:25-27 (The Message)
